I completed a sample...which Im quite proud of this one goes to the Maori King in Waikato who in turns gives it out to a overseas visitor...Thank you wonderful ladies of the Manurewa Marae who helped me gain more skills for my korowai journey.

Kaitaka Journey

Its been along time, I have been faithfully attending our Marae Wananga which has been both inspirational personally satisfying within my own personal growth.... I started the year doing a korowai wananga and its been wonderful from picking the natural fibres to having guest speakers to visiting the museum in Auckland.  WOW I then proceed to start working on, my son's Kaitaka for his 21st. Its been great, still cracking on.....Ive unpicked....redone and learn alot on the journey..watch this space i will upload some progress photos.

As part of my studio final for 08, i am making a piece of work which includes the art of weaving (i have looked at traditional artists and my goodness mine is well lets leave it to our imagination.

I havent got a whole list of works ive seen and adored apart from diggress te kanawa.....now thats wow.....
